Puerto Escondido - Vol 1
After back to back days of 4 plus hour journeys, in the affectionately known (by travellers) vomit vans, through the beautiful winding Oaxaca mountain roads with a brief overnight stay at the mountain town of San Jose Del Pacifico. We were extremely happy to reach Mexico’s pacific coast line and be back at sea level!
Puerto Escondido is famous for being home to one of the best if not the best surf spots in the world, Playa Zicatela. It was not surf season when we visited, and I’m not much of a surfer anyway but I do like wondering around new places and taking photos. Slow mornings spent walking along the 3.5km of golden sand, and exploring the streets of the mellow beach towns were an absolute treat.
